Huhhh? I think u should
make xconfig
make dep
make bzImage
make modules
make modules_install
cp arch\i386\boot\bzImage \boot\somename
add somename to lilo, lilo -v then u have a kernel running.
If u have reiserfs, u may also have to run mkinitrd.
