Hi,
We have a Suse Linux Server (6.4).
I have added an entry in the /etc/hosts file as follows
175.165.191.50 linux
The hostname of my machine is linux.
When I go to a Windows machine on the network and
tracert 175.165.191.150,
the trace returns succesfull.
Instead when I try
tracert linux,
it says the hostname cannot be found.
Please guide!
PS:
When I try traceroute linux on the server it goes through succesfully
