according to rfc 1918, it is 10./8, 192.168./16, 172.16 .. 172.31 (that's a
/12 I think) - these are reserved for LANS.  For some weird reason, lots of
people use 160.160./16 addressing in their LANS, was this the example in some
unix textbook?
