Run modprobe for all the network drivers available something or the
other will get installed. Mind you this works in most cases but is not
failsafe. For setting the ipaddress etc use ifconfig. I would suggest
reading the man pages for modprobe and ifconfig. Ofcourse you might have
to run depmod -a if you havent done before running modprobe.
All this is assuming you have the right drivers for whatever card is
installed on that machine and also that it is not mistaken for something
else which might have been modprobed earlier.you could ofcourse use
kudzu which comes with RedHat but I am not sure how it works - maybe it
is written in python (as is most of RedHat's administrative tools) - in
that case you would be able to see it's code too...
