Do a text install. Type text at the boot prompt and go ahead. It's much slicker
and always advisable.

I don't expect anaconda to work good enough on less than 16MB RAM on any
machine....

And mem=x option is typically used when you have more memory but linux doesn't
recognise it on it's own.
