It depends on which Distribution(Version)/Kernel you are using.
I have seen it work on RH 7.0 / SuSE 7.0 / SuSE 7.1 out of the box, no
probs.
For further info. on 82810 motherboard, please check the archives, as
there has been a lot of discussion about this in the past.
