/usr/sbin/strings /var/log/ftp will give u the list of the complete
hostnames from where the connections were made.
bas1-159.idf8.... is part of the host name from where the connection was
made. do a nslookup on the hostname .. should give u the IP address i.e if
it is real IP
... this should work but I am new to linux
