Nothing to do with VSNL's server... it's Satyam that is rotten... switch
to a real ISP or back to VSNL!
I got a free Satyam account from my bank... and I've not been able to
connect at any speed other than 33600 (VSNL consistently gives me 50666 or
closer to that figure... even caltiger gives the same connects!) And their
helpdesk wants me to set the connect speed to 19200 for better speeds!! or
change the DNS numbers!!
And since VSNL has blocked dialpad I tried it on satyam and voice just
goes dead for a few seconds every few seconds. so there is some kind of
packet loss... the same thing must be affecting your mail retreival also.
My experiences with Satyam have been bad right from late 1998 when they
started business!
