I have used rh 6.2, Debian and Mdk7.2. Out of all, MDK gave support out
of box both for i810 and also suprisingly for i815e. It is not only for
graphics, but for sound also. In debian potato I have to go to either
2.2.17, or 2.4.1 and with 2.2.17 stock svga driver was OK. But for
i815e, I had to get drivers from intel for both debian and RH.
