yeah for the databases you can always do that, with some work. But I am
not sure whether the rpm themselves are dbm files, Binand was talking
about changing the rpms rather than the database. 

In principle changing the pre/post install checks, in plce is highly
feasible. There must be such tools on freshmeat, I'll have to look out.
