Why not try FVWM2 ? I used to run it off my 486 with 24 MB ram. On such
old hardware it gave a reasonable performance. TWM is supposed to use
the least resources, but it will take some amount of geting used to.
FVWM2 or better still MWM are very easy to use, most of the things are a
mouse click away.
