Hehehehe... I'm like the guy in that Sardarji joke who catches the joke a
whole day after it's been told.

If you are using a NAT setup, or redirecting port 23 at your router, the
linux box will see all IPs properly as you are not filtering anything
outbound. Just that it won't see or have any record of any inbound
connections.
However, any outbound connections made from the linux box will quite
obviously show and log the correct IPs.
