no, nothing wrong. but as long as the guy insists on looking at his /etc/hosts file
for his ip address, why not give him a more scripty - scripty way of getting his IP (
guess I missed a " ; - ) " on the last post

ps:: Iam feeling funny ;

  now just imagine I have this highly secure Linux box and I don't want any mortals
telnetting in for fun, so I route all the incoming traffic for this box , onto a
thingamagig called proxy'o'firewall and do my filtering funda there. So whose IP do I
see ? Which IP does the Linux box see ?
