In response to Mithun Bhattacharya's posting:

My two-cents worth is that RedHat 7.1 is good in a generic manner. Security
(ports closed, xinetd, ipchains/iptables), More Software (LICQ, GAIM, Mozilla,
Konqueror, KDE 2), Updated Patches, etc are worth it.

I did a production server minus/minus all that software (just firewall, dns,
mail) and it is working beautifully. No hiccups.

The only issues I faced (unfortunately, sleep gets lost in such things) is
that if you burn the CD from their ISO images then you don't have any issues!
If you try to do some geeky stuff like mounting the images via iso loop and
then trying a ftp install -- well, the installer then goes for a sixer! It
will not know when to change between the disk1 and disk2; of course, I patched
it up tweaking the Python code but wouldn't suggest everybody go that route.

Regards,
RKA
