I am not sure what is going on but I checked sunsite.

They dont have any rpm for egcs. I had read somewhere that gcc had
forked at one point of time to create egcs but they had merged back into
the main gcc stream in September 1999 and I do see a
gcc-2.96-81.i386.rpm in the listing. I am not sure what Parag and Biju
is using but kgcc in definitely not there in the Seawolf distribution.
I checked
http://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/redhat/7.0/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/
and the listing does have kgcc-1.1.2-40.i386.rpm
