Your instructor is generally talking rubbish. I've seen several unices
- but none, so far, have user directories under /usr. /home, quite
often. /export/home, /opt/home even. A homedir under /usr is rather a
new thing to me.
I don't know - he might be talking about the college | training
institute where he learnt unix - and where some kind soul had
thoughtfully mounted homedirs under /usr
