Good that you are going for the book ...

Please note, that  legal copies of  Oracle 8i are  avilable with
http://www.freeos.com  and http://www.gtcdrom.com  ... you  will
get them at reasonable rates in Indian Rs ...

AFAIK, there is a boxed Oracle configured with SuSE-7.2. Can try
at the above two places mentioned.
