He uses standard vi (most likely elvis or nvi as the original vi is
non-free). And a small app called "par" (download it from freshmeat)

Put that into your .exrc (but careful - that ctrl M should be there). Best,

I think Bish uses fortune to generate the lost cookie - so it chooses
randomly. It should choose randomly at least.

Sub : Capturing startx output LOST #008
To capture output of startx to a file for study later ..
$ startx 1>startx.log 2>&1
... This will dump a bunch of text to the file "startx.log"
$ cat startx.log | less ... to view the results in an xterm.
