Not necessarily to mailing list, it can be
something like "unsubscribe@..." .
Members will get only a message , something like
"If you want to continue your membership, please
reply to this message within 7 days, without any
message-body, else you will be automatically
unsubsribed. If any-body is out-of-station or seek
7 days time is enough. Or as Shridhar suggested ,
it can be configurable.

Well, all interested members like you & me can
take a little pain, to reply to the "continue your
membership" message sent by LIH, I think !
After all, no-body will like , that LIH should be
un-necessarily busy in sending mail to "dead" or
"un-interested" members, burning precious
band-width. If this "un-neccesary fat" is reduced,
rest of the members will get their mail, as early
as possible.
You must have noticed in recent mails, about
delayed or not recieving mail for 4/5 days at all
!
