hello,
u have one of those famous "windows-special" modems
these modems use special windows only software to function...and are called
winmodems
but probably the modem u mention is a linmodem...ie, it should work under
linux with the right drivers
u can download the drivers from
http://www.medres.ch/~jstifter/linux/pctel.html
i suggest that u download the
http://www.medres.ch/~jstifter/linux/pctel-0.8.6.tar.gz
because it is the latest and open-src driver for pctel modems..the work
began a month ago and this is the second release
u will also find the proprietory (closed src) pctel drivers here
