By all probabilities, the pre-compiled object module has been
given to you in the .o file ... just see throgh the docs that
have come with your download. You may try a insmod  with that
file itself ...

The kind of compilation  error  message indicates that either
you are firing make from the wrong dir or the thing is not as
per the makefile installation setup. Check your  Makefile and
see it tallies with the path it is expected to be found.
