Hello everybody,
Two friends of mine are on Linux in our town, and me too.
All of us have a modem and a telephone connection.
Is it possible to connect our computers using the dial-up
modems, without using the ISP's connection ?
I want to dial one of their phone numbers using, say minicom,
and his computer is to respond so that I can log on using
say, rlogin.
If this is possible, how do I start ?
I know it will not be very useful, but I want to do it anyway
just to get the feel of how to do networking things by hand.
Even if the above is not exactly possible, can something similar
be done so that I we can share our resources directly without
using our ISP, only modem ??
Pointers to some documents will also be helpful.
But please don't just say ' see nag2 ' or something similar.
If possible, please pinpoint the chapter etc.
Regards,
Santanu Chatterjee
