I have installed debian potato but it's not recognising my dlink network card. RTL module cribs for irq conflicts and doesn't load. I have installed kernel2.4.9/initrd-tools/modutils but it looks like I will have to upgrade the whole base distribution manually for the sake of dependencies. I tried forcing 2.4.9kernel image in lilo but it doesn't load. It still loads 2.2.18. And lilo prompt appears as LILO instead of LILO:. It doesn't respond to any option I entered on prompt. Just boots in default image. If I can't get this solved fast, I may not resist the temptation to convert it to data partition. I have Mandrake8.1 ISO's waiting to be burnt. And I want to get debain working.
