Read sendmail's ref. thru net at sendmail's homepage or buy the O'reilly
book on sendmail.it is comprehensive.

You tried to send a mail to some recepeint at the command prompt at
verbose mode.

try this
#sendmail -v [EMAIL PROTECTED] < some_text

[where some_text is the text file that contains your body of the mail]
