Remove all KDE rpms and reinstall them. Remove all kde*devel packages first.
THen you can remove other KDE packages in any order except for kdebase and
kdelibs. After everything else is uninstalled, uninstall kdebase and kdelibs in
that order.
While installing reverse the order. First kdelibs then kdebase then evrything
else. And to install a devel package you need to install the corresponding base
package first.

But I still wonder how can you get a problem wirh MDK8.1 unless CDs are bad. I
have installed 4 machines here with different config. without a hitch. I have 3D
pack of MDK8.
