hello everybuddy one of my friends was working on his compaq pc when the whole thng suddenlly went off..only monitor lights blinking the dealer told him that the SMPS has got burnt the dealer said that a COMPAQ SMPS has to be used as a replacement and said that it wld cost Rs 8000!! now the dealer is saying that the whole pc is burnt and needs to be replaced.. this is quite strange (i don't think compaq charges 8000 bucks for an smps) and now that the dealer is saying that the whole pc is burnt...very suspicious indeed and the machine had a spike protector and an UPS before it when the thing happened what shld be done??
