Thanks for this hint ... Sridhar. Making a LOST out of it.

A lovely method ... the only thing is that it will work as
long as "Ctrl-Q" to unlock is advertised :-) Failing which
it has the protection of an open secret !

Thinking aloud ...

I suppose combined with personalised loadkeys and getkey-
codes etc. Changing "Ctrl-Q" to some other  binding would
do the job a bit better perhaps.

Detailed documentation on most packages are kept in  /usr/doc 
or /usr/share/doc ... just read them.
