./configure --disable-gcc-checking --enable-gui.

However to play VCD's directly from gui is still under development. That
option is not yet working. However using GUI u can play any video file.

Using plain text mails is a better idea. Especially on mailing 
lists. These are readable by all, whereas HTML mail may not ..
Besides, they are smaller in size (bandwidth), with  less risk
of script nuisance.
