thnx a lot for the info
i have changed my way of approach and this is what i'm doig now
actually i'm trying to make a rescue disk where there
is a boot/root disk containing the kernel and a minimal system
and a utility disk contianing links, lmme, and wvdial
actually i started out on this just for fun, but mebbe this will ultimately go up as a 
computer
sc. project in my school (yucks!)
any idea on howto find out the minimum config reqd for this thing??
