Hi,
I would like to differ on this. I am an inexperienced linux user , but
still installed many programs with the standard ./configure, make, make
install routine. As told in the article, the installation script itself
makes us search for codecs etc hiddn somewhere else and other such
headaches.

Also I downloaded their supposed stable version ,0.50, and compiled it on my
PCQ Linux m/c (with disable -gcc-checking etc") and it still does not play
VCD 's.The same story repeated with three other latest CVS downloads too.
Truly, yes , it is a project from hell.
