I tried installing games like Doom & Heretic in linux under PCQL7.1. Doom installation problems I have overcome. Heretic has - heretic, xheretic, vgaheretic and xaheretic. Out of all these, I am able to run xheretic. vgaheretic and xaheretic first reported broken pipes and stopped. After trying further, both are closing down with a message like segmentation fault and are dumping a file called core. Can anyone provide any ideas ? Also, why is it that only root is allowed to play games ?
