I had received two requests form LIH members for links to some
software which could give ISP cost accounting for every conn-
ect (about a month ago). I have deleted those mails and cannot
reply in person, so putting it on list, so that the concerned
people can pick up the info.

Only recently, I came to know that the latest version of ppp-
status (ver 0.4.2) from http://pppstatus.sourceforge.net has
cost accounting. I have not tried it ...

Meanwhile, I was using a self written script as a frontend to
wvdial.I have extended that script to include cost accounting
for our rates of Rs 2/- for 3 min. In addition it gives a log
of each connect, duration, bytes and packet log and average
thoroughput. It is dependent on wvdial, pppstats, bc and awk.
It keeps a monthly log. I have put it on my home page today.
And, it works !
