Check the output of X (in /var/log/XFree...log against your monitor's specs. It might be possible that X is driving the monitor a little too hard.
Continued use might cause the monitor to fail prematurely. I am guess the refresh timings that X uses is slightly off forthe monitor. Use some conservative settings (lower refresh for example). ...and... please wrap your lines at < 80 characters please...
