Are we sure? with  lower refresh rate
it might get worse!. you should check
whether u have chosen correct VGA
/monitor specs in XF86Config.

If VGA/Monitor supports increase
your refresh rate in XF86Config,
otherwise risk overclocking them.
Mostly low resoln-800x600 supports
better/higher refresh rates,u can give a try
