For headers not to come as root@localhost, don't login as root.

What happens if I have three users on my system. One must have domain
@yahoo.com, the second must have @vsnl.net, and the third must have
@vsnl.com.

Let's say their local usernames are tom, dick and harry, and that their
remote addresses are [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Also, if tom sends a mail to dick on the same machine, the mail header
must say
  From: tom@localhost
  To: dick@localhost

but if tom sends a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], it must say
  From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

and if tom sends a mail to dick and charlie, the header must say:

(in dick's mailbox)
  From: tom@localhost
  To: dick@localhost, [EMAIL PROTECTED]

(in charlie's mailbox)
  From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This is required so that all mail reaches correctly, and all mails are
replied to correctly, and all replies reach correctly.

How to do this? Any solution as long as I don't have to change settings
on a daily basis.

Oh, well, of course, everything looks bad if you remember it.
