Yep, works well ... IIRC, you need DBM database on  the system
installed. Don't know if it is standard with all distros.It is
based on a sample code of O'Reilly book "Exploring Expect".Can
make a  LOST out of this though ... the  pre-requisites  would 
have to be spelt out.

or nvi, type: ':set number' (or, ':se nu')... and to turn off
