Hi, Yes. it is possible to download Oracle 9i for Linux from otn.oracle.com. You need to have an account on this site which is free of course. Please bear in mind that Oracle 9i for Linux has been certified on Suse Linux only by Oracle themselves.
As far as installing it remotely is concerned, you have to execute the following command on your local workstation before the installation. export xhost + Hardware requirements for Oracle 9i are a bit on the higher side. A Pentium class process machine with at leat 256 MB of RAM. Oracle recommends at least 512 MB to be on the safer side. BTW, if you are interested, you could also sign up for the Bangalore Oracle Users Group at the following urls www.yahoogroups.com/group/bangalore-oracle-general www.yahoogroups.com/group/bangalore-oracle-technical Cheers, Surjo. --- naveen_dhankhar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi all, > is it possible to download oracle 9i for linux from > any where ?and what are the server requirements for > oracle9i? > and is it possible to install oracle9i on a remote > server through telnet or ssh....?
