AFAIK, package management is not a Linux issue per se. It is a distro issue. All major distros have their own package man- agement stratgies/ programs. For Slackware : pkgtool, installpkg, removepkg etc. For Debian : apt-get and dpkg (and their frontends) For RH : rpm (and frontends like gnorpm, kpackage etc) For SuSE : YaST .... Other distros have their own ... check out for your distro. Often there is a requirement to read a specific page, rather than the default. e.g. whatis man will reveal man (1), man (7) and man.conf (5), and what you want is man (7); type in :- $man 7 man ####<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>#################################### : _______________________________________________ linux-india-help mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-india-help
