It should be possible I guess - but why such a weird format?  Can you provide
an example?  I'll test it on freebsd and an old sunos box ... also with
solaris 8 (which are the three unices I have access to right now, other than
linux)

To reverse the characters in a file use the rev command.  e.g.
If there is a file called Hello with just "Hello World" in it:
$cat Hello ... output is ... Hello World
$rev Hello ... outout is ... dlroW olleH !!
