First of all thank you very much to Binand and Philip, who
reponded to my mail and at the same time I must feel sorry
about my bad luck and poor understanding of linux, which
causes annoyance ( which is quite obvious ) I say bad luck
as I did't get all the mails which I found today, when I
browse thread on list acrchieve.

My immediate concern is that when I login from
authors.elsevier.com , all browser gave problems. Now telnet
recipe gave following response:

------------------------------------------
$ telnet secure.elsevier.co.uk https
Trying 193.131.222.42...
Connected to secure.elsevier.co.uk (193.131.222.42).
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host. [after quite a long time]
---------------------------------------------

I know I have to do a lot my self, but I need poinetr or
hint.

May I know what does above telnet test indicate. Mine
connection is through firewall, so no proxy setting is
needed.

If problem is only at my end, where should I look in.

Thanks in advance.
