Bangalore = "Benda Kallina Ooru" ... "The city of boiled beans". The story
is that this guy called Kempe Gowda (that's the guy K.G.Road in B'lore is
named after) was out hunting when he camped at a place and cooked himself
some beans curry (or at least, boiled beans).

He liked the place so much, he decided to found a town there... that's how
bangalore came into being.
