I thought it was supposed to be the other way around ... Mysql can handle large loads of data... while postgres is more feature rich (proper ORDBMS) etc .. so your choice of database depends on what is needed by your application... just become some a bunch of fortune 500 companies rely on some dumb database doesn't make it the right one for everybody!! ;-) Google is powered by a customised version of MySQL.
