why does your ppp daemon die ? please check /var/log/message file and tell us. try cat /var/log/messages | grep pppd your connection time is Tue Apr 9 23:32:36 2002 so try to post some of messages of pppd from 23:32:36 onwards. and all messages regarding ppp after that. your ppp deamon dies after connecting , so it is obvious that it wont change you /etc/ppp/resolv.conf when i read man of pppd, for exit code = 5 it says Pppd terminated because it was sent a SIGINT, SIGTERM or SIGHUP signal. can any one tell why is it happening ? I guess SIGINT shows problem with interrupt. SIGTERM normally these signals show some hardware failure , am i right ? --kunal > --> Disconnecting at Tue Apr 9 23:33:30 2002 > --> Auto Reconnect will be attempted in 5 seconds > > And this one with stupid mode = 0 > --> Waiting for carrier. > ATDT 172222 > CONNECT 38400 > --> Carrier detected.
