Maybe you are right, but a 'GUI script' would give more
uniform and flexible control.
About remote-control apps, could you explain a bit more
what they really are. Never came across one.

Prabably. Google searches led me nowhere regarding this.
Someone from alt.os.linux asked me to have a look at
http://xnee.sourceforge.net
Went there and downloaded xnee. Presently, I am trying
to run the app to understand what it really does, but I
am getting the error:

Xlib:  extension "RECORD" missing on display ":0.0".
Record extension missing
----------------------------------
Can you, or anyone, tell me what more should be done?
