Yes, I think I will have to recompile, since RECORD extension does not seem to be available on my XFree86 4.1 (Mandrake 8.1) installation, according to the output of "xdpyinfo". But it is available in XF86 3.6 . So, I guess it will be available in the 4.1 version or sbove of XFree86.
