For rsync to take care of itself, it needs to be installed on both ends... What it does is to execute ssh -l whatever remotehost rsync (some options) Install rsync on the remote machine, and run rsync with --rsync-path=/path/to/rsync/on/the/remotemachine and things will be fine. Test your rlogin system first... or better still, use ssh with DSA keys, no passphrase (that's what I use on my systems, for backups via rsync/ssh).
