Hi all,

After having a LOT of trouble with my S3 Trio 3D/2x AGP graphics card,
I realised that it would be probably worth it for me to buy another
card. Configuring X was a problem with it. I could not use any other X
than 3.3.6 and hence would miss out on mplayer's xv driver. Also, the
performance of the card was pathetic even in Windows. In X there would
be snow on the screen - so on and so forth.

So I decide to buy a new graphics card. I believe, if I am using X11 or
xv video driver for mplayer, a better card could mean better
performance. What do you people think? If there is a time to warn me,
please do it now :-)

The one choice I easily have here is to buy one Nvidia Riva TNT2 AGP
with 32 MB on board - for Rs 1350/-. Deal is cheap, and hence I am
wary. Are there any known issuse of this card with Linux/Xfree86 or
otherwise performance? Those who have used it - please share the
experiences now. Meanwhile I shall also lookup Xfree86.org and the net
- but instant feedback shall be most welcome.

Do not laze, write back now!

Rohit
