Rohit, I've been using a Riva TNT2 card with 32 Mb video ram for almost three years now.... and it's a great card. Cost me Rs. 4000 when I bought it then, but I've had no regrets at all. It plays movies with mplayer at 1024x768 at 24 bit colour on a P2-400 with no problems.
Also brought a GeForce2 MX400 card with 64 Mb ram (Mercury brand) last month, costing me about Rs.3600. This card also works great with linux. One objection a lot of folks seem to have with nVidia is that they release binary-only drivers for their cards. But on the performance front, I've found little to complain about.
