Once again i have some problem with my HP scsi Surestore 40GB tape drive.

Command i used
[root@backup yash]# tar cjf /dev/st0 /home/yash
tar: Removing leading `/' from member names
tar (child): /dev/st0: Wrote only 0 of 10240 bytes
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now

And in /var/log/messages it says.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Oct 3 17:10:57 backup kernel: st0: Error with sense data: Deferred st09:00: sense key
Medium Error
Oct 3 17:10:57 backup kernel: Additional sense indicates Sequential positioning error
Oct 3 17:12:51 backup kernel: st0: Error with sense data: Deferred st09:00: sense key
Medium Error
Oct 3 17:12:51 backup kernel: Additional sense indicates Sequential positioning error
Oct 3 17:12:51 backup kernel: st0: Error on write filemark.

Can anyone tell me what kind of error it is?

Regards,
-Yash
