If this is about RedHat, then it is not a roumour but not a truth as well.. I 
would call it experience...

IMO, RHL6.0 was a mess, 6.1 was quite good.. no problems..and 6.2 was no 
problems at all..

Since then, don't know.. Switched to madrake 8.. No problems at  no 
times..except for some small ones in MDK9.0 for binary incomtibility..
